I currently live in Columbia, South Carolina, was born in Canada, and I speak French and English. Before I changed my life in 2011, I was a stressed-out workaholic in the corporate and fast-paced music industry in Nashville, TN.
In 2010, a health scare caused me to begin my healing journey. I practiced yoga for many years for the physical benefit of it but it wasn’t until my health scare that my love for yoga grew even more. Not only did I feel better physically, but I was making smarter choices with my nutrition and in my life in general. I was calmer, happier and so much more comfortable in my skin.
That’s when I learned that in yoga, body AND mind go together.
I pursued this lifestyle and path which took me around the world including living with Swamis in a yoga ashram in Tyrol, Austria, where I obtained my certification (RYT-200) in Sivananda Yoga. My passion for this life led me to broaden my studies in aging anatomy and obtain my certification in Gentle Yoga, including Chair Yoga. I am certified to teach Sivananda Yoga, Power Yoga (cardio yoga), Hatha Yoga(Gentle Yoga), Vinyasa Flow (Breathe & Move), Yin (Restorative), Gentle and Chair Yoga.
My passion for restorative, therapeutic and gentle yoga brought me to obtain my certification in Yoga Nidra through the Veterans Yoga Project. Yoga Nidra is a practice of completely relaxing the body, and the student becomes systematically and increasingly aware of the inner world by following verbal instructions from the teacher. (Guided Meditation)
Yoga, mind, body and energy, beautifully intertwined together, inspired me to dive into the world of Reiki, a healing technique that aligns energy by means of touch. This activates the natural healing process, restoring physical and emotional well-being. I am a level II practitioner.
This mindset brought me wonderful gifts in my life. Feeling better, feeling stronger, more flexible and lighter in my step! In 2012, I met the man of my dreams, US Army Sergeant First Class Trevor Madison. I am a happy military wife, a health-conscious, pescatarian, gluten-free home chef, a certified yoga instructor, a reiki healer and an entrepreneur.
As a permanent resident of Columbia, South Carolina and a private yoga teacher for a few years now, I am making it my mission to grow Palmetto Yoga by opening a center so our team of professional instructors can share the wonderful path of yoga and reiki to our community and to help them reach their goals, be it spiritually, physically or emotionally.
